We have a lot of black labs in our rescue right now and that is not unusual. Black dogs are the last to be adopted form shelters--in fact, many shelters don't even bother to offer the black dogs for adoption as they know that they will not get adopted. This is such a shame as some of these big black dogs, like Beau, are very special. Beau is exceptionally loving and attentive to the people around him. He loves to play but also loves to lie by his foster at night. He is housebroken and crate crained. He is great with kids and other dogs, he is calm for his age and is simply the perfect family pet. This is a very special boy who will provide a lucky adopter with a strong, once in a lifetime kind of bond.

Puppies!

It is puppy season in rescue.  Our tiny rescue has 24 puppies to place right now and every single one of them is a total sweetheart!  We have 3  beautiful black lab pups that were dumped by a breeder who kept the yellows and the chocolates in the litter.  These sweeties are playful and happy and will make wonderful pets.   Labs love kids and water and food and...well...everything!  With a little bit of training these pups will be wonderful lifetime companions.  These pups are already on their way with good basic manners and crate training.   All of these labby pups are featured on our petfinder site--they are Sassy, Delilah and Salem.  Don't delay--they wont last long!

Male 1 year old. Playful! Will play for 30 minutes at a time. He would make a fabulous companion dog for people or other dogs!! His foster mom just raves about him! Very smart. Crates beautifully! Likes a routine.  He does great at the dog park, likes to ride in cars and he is just a happy go lucky little dog.  He will be your best friend on a walk.  He is great with kids and other dogs.  Housebroken and crate trained-he just needs a new family to love.

Meet Sandra. She is about a year old and sweet as could be. She has has a rough start. When we rescued her from a high kill shelter in WV she had barley a hair on her body she had mange so bad. But as you can see she looks beautiful now, her coat has come back and she is good as can be. She gets along great with kids, dogs and cats., She is a small girl only about 17lbs so she would make a great pet for any family. She is crate trained and almost housebroken. She will warm your heart and be a great walking partner from the spring season.
